Dr Marius van Aardt
Marius has been involved in organisational development for over twenty years. He excelled as Group Risk Management Consultant while working for Gencor (now BHP Billiton) and played a pivotal role in the development of a risk management framework for Gencor's international operations. Since 1997 he consulted to various large mining and industrial organisations. His expertise lies in the development and implementation of organisational interventions covering various aspects ranging from leadership to occupational safety.

He holds a Doctorate in Industrial Sociology from the University of Pretoria which he obtained in 1995. His thesis on the relationship between organisational culture and safety in the mining industry can be obtained from the University of Pretoria’s Academic Information Service.

Since leaving Gencor he has been involved with culture surveys and behavioural safety interventions at companies like Anglo Platinum, Samancor, Impala Platinum and consulted in and implemented several highly successful safety and risk management projects at Northam Platinum, De Beers, Ingwe Coal, Iscor (currently known as Mittal Steel), South African Airways and Airports Company of South Africa.
